A Wiki for the New Club of Paris?
Verfasst von simon.dueckert am 17. Oktober 2008 - 8:31.At the KnowTech 2008 conference last week in Frankfurt/Germany I talked with Leif Edvinsson about the idea of extending the "knowledge infrastructure" of the New Club of Paris with a wiki. Since the club already has a website for providing controlled content we thought it could be a good idea to provide a wiki to enable user generated content as well. I promised to think about a way we could reach that. I did that and came up with some questions we as a club have to ask ourself about OUR "NCP Wiki" (New Club of Paris Wiki):
- Do we want to install the wiki-software on our own servers or should we choose a hosted solution?
- Do we want to have a open (anyone can read/write), a member-write (anyone can read, members can write) or a closed wiki (members can read/write)?
- Do we want to invest (money) or do we want to have a free wiki?
- Which wiki-software or -service should we use?

New Club of Paris General Assembly 2008
Verfasst von simon.dueckert am 25. Mai 2008 - 17:55.As a member of the New Club of Paris (NCP) I joined the 2008 general assembly on May 21st in Paris. The general assembly took place one day before the World Conference on Intellectual Capital for Communities (IC4). Since the New Club of Paris is a membership-based community open to academics, policy-makers and high-level experts a lot of new knowledge and experiences were shared. Some of them are confidential but some of them are publically available anyways:
- A Intellectual capital research agenda will be published on the club's website.
- Idea of the NCP as a "Faculty for Knowledge Economy & Economics".
- NCP Chapter Germany: The regional knowledge management initiative in the Metropolitan Area of Nuremberg was mentioned by the NCP Chapter Germany. The GfWM Knowledge Management Model which is a process-oriented, ISO 9001 based and freely available model for organizational knowledge management was also mentioned . A probem in germany is that there are many different communities that are not very well connected/syncronized.
- Charles Savage presented the "method" of the "on-handed-clap". You clap with just one hand so signalize that you are supporting an idea but it makes no noise :)
